Homemade Household Cleaners: Fun with Kitchen Concoctions!

Greetings and blessings to you! Through my adventures across the World Wide Web I have always found a tiny bit of excitement in coming across recycled art projects, or nifty ways to reuse foods and other every day items found right in your home. Not only is it cost efficient, but the recipes I am sharing with you today actually work better than the expensive name brand products you will find on your grocery shelves!

Dishwashing Detergent
It literally cost me less than $5 and will last me a good while!

All you will need is:

  • Dawn dish soap
  • Baking soda
Put NO MORE than TWO drops of Dawn soap in the detergent compartment of your dishwasher. Any more than two drops and you will have a big bubbly mess on your hands lol! Fill it the rest of the way with baking soda and that's it! I promise it will clean your dishes better than Cascade!

Dryer Sheet
(This will last you 40-50 loads!)

You will need:
  • One wash cloth (I used a brightly colored one so I could find it easily :)
  • Your favorite scent of fabric softener
Saturate your cloth with the liquid softener, making sure to wring out the excess. Hang or drape your cloth to dry for at least 3 days before using. When ready, simply toss your cloth in with your drying load, and there you go! Works just as great as the disposables!

All-Purpose Cleaning Spray
I definitely recommend making sure you have your favorite scent of essential oil before making this, otherwise your spray will smell like vinegar. There is another recipe for this I will be trying soon, and will post it asap! :)

You will need:
  •  2 Cups Water
  • 2 Cups white vinegar
  • 20 drops essential oil (I used lemon for a nice clean scent)
Combine all your ingredients into a spray bottle and shake to combine

Finding ways to reuse, reduce and recycle around your home are sure to put you in good spirits! I hope you try these and enjoy them as much as I do! Feel free to share your comments, and if you have a favorite recipe you swear by, please share! Thank you for visiting, and until next time!!
Blessed Be!

Greetings!

Welcome and brightest blessings! My name is Melissa, and I have been a practicing Wiccan for over ten years. I am a mother to three wonderful energetic boys, a wife to an amazing man, and I just so happen to be a Witch. At the first look of the word I'm sure some would envision the infamous scene in The Wizard of Oz, where flying monkeys chase a terrified Dorothy, and the Wicked Witch of the West cackles with delight, "I'll get you my pretty!" Luckily for all of us though, the only monkeys I have are in the form of rambunctious children, and I never quite mastered the cackle. In actuality, being a witch is very serene and spiritual, and has always been more of a way of life than a stereo-typical tag in society for me. Simply put, it means that I put a little more intent with the energy and substance I put out into the world. I pay a little more attention to my surroundings, the way I treat my fellow neighbor, and the lessons I teach my boys. I live by the waxing and waning of the moon, our ever-changing seasons, and have learned to never take for granted the precious time we are given in this plane.
I lost my mom in 2009. Cancer. She was my best friend, my mentor, and even through such a tragic period in my life, I found so many spiritual and positive aspects from her passing. I'm sure I will go into deeper detail on that topic at a later date though, for it is a very strong emotional period in my life. It led to the bitter divorce of my ex-husband, and the emerging of a new, beautiful relationship that I now have in my life.
I hope to post random tid-bits of information here on a regular basis, from recipes, to spells, even kid friendly arts and crafts. I love learning new things, and even more so, I love sharing them! I can't wait to browse the blogging world and find some awsome reads, as well as make some new life-long friendships!
Until then though, I must call it a night. Thank you for viewing my brand new page, and I hope you come back soon! Thanx!
May the love of the God and Goddess be forever in your heart
Merry ye meet and merry ye part
     and merry ye meet again!
